Hit and Run cyclist left with broken arm

Police are appealing for information after a female cyclist was left with a broken arm in a Preston city centre collision.

The cyclist, 48 and from Preston, was at traffic lights at the junction of Corporation Street and Ringway.

She was waiting for the lights around 1.45pm on Wednesday (1 March) when a large white van approached the bike.

The van driver made off from the scene, leaving the cyclist on the ground with a broken right arm.

Preston Police has appealed for witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage to get in touch.

PC Stuart Hart, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “A collision occurred between a van and a bike, leaving the cyclist with a broken arm.

“We would now like to piece together what happened and are appealing for anybody who saw the collision or has dashcam footage of it to get in touch. Similarly, if you know who the van driver may be, please let us know.”
